mrcandiipants: I had to think for a long time about what song I wanted to do for today, and I finally landed on Midnight City by M83 (listen here). First off, I LOVE this song and listen to it way too often, so I decided to do my nails based on a few of the lyrics from the song. My grey fingers are “looking at the milky skyline”, so I wanted to do a skyline, but to also make it really muted (hence the milky…. guh great explanation Candice). For the thumb, I REALLY like the idea, not so much the execution, although I think it looks much better in real life. There are two lines in the song, one about “following the neon signs”, and the other saying “the city is our church”. I wanted to combine those ideas, so I put XXX, like what you might see in a neon sign, but I did it in more of a stained glass kind of style to evoke that whole church stuff. Now, go listen to that song. And then another time. The third time through, join in with me and shout THE CITY IS OUR CHUUURCH and we’ll be friends forever. It’s that simple. my god these are just wonderful. Nails inspired by M83, now that’s something i’d love to see more of. I wish I could try this myself, but I just go into a trance whenever I listen to most of their songs, so my creativity dies ahah
